Llansawel Recreation Field and Hall Trust

The Trust has provided a commemorative gate to the village hall that shows aspects of local life and history. They include the livestock market, the drovers and a travelling elephant that is buried on the site. A small garden has been created from the local stone and a monument erected to describe the livestock market. All of this history is detailed on a new bilingual web section with stories contributed by the community.  A second project provided a drover’s wall, a themed play area with historical information, a heritage corner in the hall with equipment to display local history and facilities to print historical documents.  The village hall now has embroidered wall hangings and sculptures depicting the local area and a painting of the Hall in earlier times when the site was the local animal market.
